AvantGarde Group helps public and private-sector clients around the world measure their carbon footprint, plan for decarbonization, develop climate change projects and secure climate finance for their implementation. In doing so, we draw on our extensive experience with international climate funds, structuring market-based carbon transactions, and identifying and assessing GHG emission reduction opportunities.
Energy efficiency is the world’s “invisible” first fuel on the way to the decarbonization of our society. AvantGarde Group helps detect and unlock this potential.
We help our clients identify, mobilize, and scale up the sources of public and private finance to realise energy efficiency measures in buildings, industry, and transport. We work on the identification of sector- and country- specific barriers hindering the market transformation towards the realisation of the potential and help design projects, programmes, and policies to overcome these barriers. In many cases, the measures also bring other benefits beyond energy savings and GHG emission reduction. These include the reduction of poverty and especially energy poverty, the increase in local job places, the acceleration of economic growth, and others. We help to identify, integrate, and maximize these co-benefits in proposed actions to ensure our clients achieve multiple goals.
We offer more than 20 years of solid track record in the design and delivery of energy efficiency projects. Thus, the only three national mitigation projects of Green Climate Fund (GCF) in Eastern Europe has been supported by AvantGarde Group, and two of them focused on energy efficiency in buildings. These are " De-Risking and Scaling-up Investment in Energy Efficient Building Retrofits" (FP10) and "Scaling-up Investment in Low-Carbon Public Buildings in Bosnia and Herzegovina" (FP51).
At AvantGarde Group, we also believe that renewable energy is also an equally powerful means to help alleviate poverty, boost local development and empower people, in particular those in many under-developed rural areas around the world.
Our decade-long experience includes development of policy frameworks to de-risk renewable energy investment, design and evaluation of innovative financing instruments and appropriate business models, facilitating technology transfer and domestic supply chain for various renewable energy technologies, including small-hydro, biogas and biomass, and solar.
Our main success factor lies in our passion to ensure that climate change and local economic and social development go hand in hand and that every tonne of CO2 emissions reduced also brings economic and social benefits via new jobs, cleaner local environment, and increased revenue.
